Weathering storms – PERF, EAP offer assistance

The Postal Employees’ Relief Fund (PERF) and Employee Assistance Plan (EAP) are available to aid USPS workers affected by Hurricane Florence and other emergencies.

PERF helps postal employees and retirees whose homes were significantly damaged by natural disasters or house fires.

PERF isn’t an emergency relief organization like the American Red Cross or insurance companies that are paid to replace property. Instead, PERF provides relief grants to help qualifying individuals get re-established after a loss.

You can contribute by clicking “Donate” on the PERF site. You also can contribute through the Combined Federal Campaign, which is underway through Jan. 11, by designating charity number 10268.

EAP helps employees and family members cope with a variety of situations, including life-altering disasters, changes at work and more routine matters.
