A postal worker allegedly drunk on the job was arrested in the town Wednesday afternoon.
Vernon police were called about 1 p.m. by someone who thought the postal employee delivering mail in the Olsen Drive and Valerie Drive neighborhood appeared intoxicated, according to a news release.
The suspect, a 55-year-old Vernon man, did not pass a field sobriety test, police said. Officers also found bottles of alcohol in his vehicle.
The worker was charged with DUI and released on bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 27.
