The Postal Service will shut down remote.usps.gov access to USPS online applications Monday, Aug. 28.
The shutdown is part of the Postal Service’s ongoing effort to protect its networks.
Employees who use remote.usps.gov will need to request Virtual Private Network (VPN) access to connect remotely.
Similarly, USPS suppliers or contractors will need to request Business Partner Virtual Private (BP VPN) access.
Requests for VPN or BP VPN access must be made through eAccess by Monday, Aug. 21, to receive approval prior to the Aug. 28 shutdown.
Two-factor authentication will remain in effect when using VPN or BP VPN. A token will be required.
No changes or further action are necessary for individuals who currently use VPN or BP VPN and a token to connect remotely.
USPS does not allow employees to use personal devices to access Postal Service information resources. VPN is to be used with USPS-issued devices only.
