Three grinches assault and rob Queens postal worker two days before Christmas

A trio of thieves assaulted and robbed a mailman of his cellphone during a daring pre-Christmas raid in Queens, police said Thursday.

The 62-year-old postal employee told police that he was returning to his truck on Sutphin Blvd. near Linden Blvd. in South Jamaica about 1:30 p.m. Monday — just two days before Christmas — when he found the three teens inside.

When he asked the trio what they were doing inside his truck, they jumped out, shoved the mailman to the ground and ran off with his cellphone, police said.

The mailman was not seriously injured and refused medical attention at the scene.
