Staten Island postal worker beaten to ground by strangers while delivering mail

A postal worker delivering mail on Staten Island was beaten to the ground by two men and a woman, police said Thursday.

The 47-year-old U.S. Postal Service got into a quarrel with his attackers, who were strangers to him, outside a deli on Guyon Ave. near North Railroad Ave. in Oakland Heights about 2:20 p.m. April 7, police said.

As the trio yelled at the worker, one of the men lunged at him, slamming him to the ground.

The assailants, who were inside the deli prior to the attack, fled in a dark-colored Jaguar sedan and have not been caught, officials said.
