Stamp ceremonies canceled

The Postal Service has canceled the dedication ceremonies for four stamps.

The organization is following the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which has advised people to avoid gatherings of 10 people or more, because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Typically, USPS stamp ceremonies attract 200 or more attendees.

Here’s a list of the stamp ceremonies, their scheduled dates and the cities where the events were to be held:

  • Contemporary Boutonniere and Garden Corsage (April 2, Crestwood, KY)
  • Earth Day (April 18, Denver)
  • American Gardens (May 13, Winterthur, DE)

These stamps will still be available for purchase starting on the dates listed above. A follow-up announcement for each stamp will be made prior to the release date.

The Postal Service will try to hold special dedication ceremonies later.
