Spokane Postal Service employee no longer with the company after being federally charged with stealing mail

According to the United States Postal Service, the employee who was federally indicted for stealing mail is not longer working for USPS in Spokane.

In a statement from the USPS OIG, Jeffrey Krafels wrote, “The USPS OIG considers these allegations to be a very serious matter. When these types of allegations are made, USPS OIG Special Agents vigorously investigate these matters, as we did in this instance. It is important to note that an allegation is merely an accusation. All persons are presumed innocent unless otherwise adjudicated by a court of law.”

The suspect, Brian David Nelson, will make his first appearance in court on November 9. He faces five years behind bars and a $250,000 fine.
