Postal workers in Detroit now eligible for COVID-19 vaccine

Detroit seniors age 70 and older, U.S. Postal Service workers who live or work in Detroit and on-site essential city of Detroit employees are now eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine, Mayor Mike Duggan announced Thursday.

Duggan expanded who is eligible for COVID-19 shots, which are being administered in a mass drive-through vaccination clinic in the TCF Center garage in downtown Detroit.

“Our postal employees have remained at risk for COVID from the beginning, whether they’re working in the sorting centers handling all those packages or envelopes or whether they are going door-to-door in the neighborhood,” he said.
