A U.S. postal worker was injured Saturday when he was struck by a vehicle that backed out of a driveway in Bell Gardens, after which, the driver fled the scene.
The hit-and-run occurred about 3:10 p.m. in front of 6547 Specht Ave., according to Bell Gardens police Sgt. Rick McCraner.
“Arriving officer discovered a U.S. postal worker lying on the pavement behind his mail truck,” McCraner said. “The postal worker advised a vehicle backed out of a driveway and hit him, pinning him between his mail truck and the suspect vehicle.”
The vehicle was described as a gold Hyundai SUV and the driver as a female who fled northbound on Specht, he said.
Paramedics took the victim to a hospital for treatment of pain in his legs, McCraner said.
