Postal worker shot with BB gun while delivering mail in Howell Township

A U.S. Postal Service worker was shot in the hand with an BB gun Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Livingston County Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of a shooting in the 5700 block of Crandall Road in Howell Township about 2:40 p.m., sheriff’s officials said in a news release.

The investigation indicates the female mail carrier was shot with the BB gun while delivering mail, they said.

Two juveniles, ages 11 and 13, admitted to firing the BB gun at the mail carrier and were released to their parents, according to the release.

The mail carrier had minor injuries and took herself to the hospital for treatment.
