Postal Worker buys lotto ticket worth $250,000

Thanks to a winning Virginia Lottery ticket, a Remington woman has started looking for a new house.

Postal worker Samantha Haines had just finished her day and went to buy a Golden Nugget ticket at the 7-Eleven at 7489 Limestone Drive in Gainesville.

As she sat in the car, talking to her husband on the phone, Ms. Haines scratched that ticket and couldn’t believe her eyes; she had won the top prize of $250,000.

She began crying and told her husband, who thought she was kidding at first.

When Ms. Haines claimed her prize at a Virginia Lottery customer service center two weeks ago, she said, “I feel a little bit calm. I don’t know if it just hasn’t sunk in.”
