Postal worker, a ‘friend to everybody,’ retires after nearly 50 years on the job in Waukegan

Leroy Presley has been weaving a thread in the city of Waukegan’s fabric by delivering mail to its residents for the Waukegan Post Office for nearly half a century.

On Monday, after 49 years of service, Presley will put on the blue uniform one last time before moving on to a new phase in his life that he’s looking forward to — retirement.
