Postal Service Warns ‘Massive Operational Disruptions’ Possible Amid Nationwide Injunctions

U.S. Department of Justice attorneys warned that nationwide injunctions ordering the U.S. Postal Service to reverse controversial changes implemented under Postmaster General Louis DeJoy could result in “massive operational disruptions” and “further delays,” suggesting that mail delivery could be impacted while mail-in ballots are being delivered for the November election.

DOJ attorneys representing the USPS, DeJoy and USPS Board of Governors chair Robert Duncan said in a court filing in Pennsylvania late Monday, however, that the multiple injunctions have resulted in “a patchwork of overlapping obligations on the Postal Service” that could affect mail delivery during the “pivotal time” before the election by imposing “crippling obligations…that would be near impossible to implement or would cause further delays.”

Dejoy needs to be removed from his position due to his past history and the US Postal Service needs to be returned to people getting mail in a timely manner, seniors being able to get their medications timely and the US Postal Service being funded like it should be.
