Postal Service pledges better mail service in Richmond area

August 10, 2017

The U.S. Postal Service is tweaking carrier routes, hiring new carriers and adding new training to improve mail service in the Richmond area.

Spokeswoman Freda Sauter said the postal service is committed to providing good services in the Richmond area. She said the postal service appreciated the recent input from U.S. Rep. Donald McEachin, D-4th, who expressed concern about mail service in the Richmond area after he said he “read with concern” an article in the Richmond Times-Dispatch about issues with delivery.

McEachin wrote in July to Postmaster General Megan Brennan about his concerns with late delivery times and mail being delivered to wrong addresses in his district.
