Postal Inspectors keeping Super Bowl mail secure

While football fans are getting ready for Super Bowl LIV in Miami this weekend, the Postal Inspection Service is working to secure the mail arriving at Hard Rock Stadium before the big game.

“We do our part to keep the players, spectators and employees safe by ensuring the mail and packages going to the stadium are safe,” said Antonio Gomez, inspector in charge of the Inspection Service’s Miami Division.

The division’s mail screening team is screening mailpieces and parcels for harmful chemicals, biological agents and explosives.

Additionally, USPS has removed blue collection boxes in Miami, Miami Beach and Davie to aid in security measures and to accommodate activities associated with the game. The boxes will be reinstalled next week.

“The Postal Service is working hard to prepare for this year’s game, and that includes working closely with the Postal Inspection Service to protect the mail and our employees and customers,” said Acting South Florida District Manager Sal Vacca.

More than 150,000 visitors are expected to descend on Miami for this year’s Super Bowl, which will feature the Kansas City Chiefs taking on the San Francisco 49ers.

That’s about all they’re good for….most can’t shoot straight or even catch a cold.

Thanks Mike for a good laugh. Words spoken so true.
