GRIDLEY, CA — A scary scene unfolded Tuesday morning near Gridley when two vehicles collided, sending one woman to the hospital by helicopter.
Cal Fire-Butte County firefighters and California Highway Patrol officers arrived on scene to find a white pickup truck partially submerged in a canal off Gilstrap and Obrien avenues. It collided with a United States Postal Service truck. Two individuals were found to be suffering from moderate to major injuries while an air ambulance was ordered for one individual.
“The at fault pickup truck ended up in a nearby water ditch. The female driver of the pickup truck was treated on scene and refused medical transport,” Pederson said. “The driver of the postal vehicle was flown out by helicopter and taken up to Chico for precautionary reasons.”
