Postal coalition and labor stakeholders collectively seek relief in 2020 appropriations

December 12, 2019 – On behalf of Postal Service business and labor stakeholders – who collectively generate $1.5 trillion in sales, and support more than 7 million private-sector jobs, and more than 600,000 Postal Service employees – we respectfully request language to repeal the mandate that the U.S. Postal Service prefund future retiree health benefits in any final fiscal year 2020 appropriations package.

Why???….that would just set you up when you retire for the postal service to put you on Medicare instead of FEHB…and you don’t want to go there.

Be careful what you wish for.

Remember these are the same Unions that touted the PAE in 2006 as the savior of the Postal Service.
