Man facing up to 40 year for allegedly brandishing knife at Billings mail carrier

BILLINGS — The man who threatened a mail carrier and was arrested at gunpoint by police in downtown Billings Monday night faces up to 40 years in prison.

George Douglas Limberhand, 36, was scheduled to make his first appearance in Yellowstone County Justice Court Monday.

He faces one felony charge of robbery, which carries a sentence between two and 40 years and fine of up to $50,000. Authorities are investigating whether to file additional charges.

Prosecutors stated in court documents that a U.S. Postal Service carrier reported to police that a man held him up with a knife, and he managed to break away before anything was stolen.
