Body of missing postal worker found in vehicle pulled from lake

ST. CLAIR CO., ILL. – The body of a missing woman was found in a vehicle that was pulled from a lake near the golf course in Frank Holten State Park Sunday morning.

According to the St. Clair County coroner, Melanie Tally’s body was found in a white Dodge Avenger that was pulled from a lake around 11:45 a.m. 49-year-old Tally was reported missing on April 27.

An autopsy will be conducted on Monday.

In May, Tally’s daughter told 5 On Your Side her mom was last seen leaving her job at the post office on 17th Street and Market Street on April 23.
