BEACHWOOD, Ohio — A mail carrier in Beachwood has tested positive for COVID-19.
“The safety and well-being of our employees is one of our highest priorities. To ensure the health of our employees, we are continuing to follow recommended strategies from the CDC and local health departments. We also continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation on a nationwide basis,” a spokesperson for the United States Postal Service said.
The Postal Service states that according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there is currently no evidence to support transmission of coronavirus associated with imported goods. It also says that there is likely a “very low risk that COVID-19 can be spread from products or packaging shipped from China because of poor survivability of coronavirus on surfaces.”
