Antioch woman gets probation for helping postal worker steal $10k from charities

OAKLAND, CA — A woman who — along with her sister, then a postal worker — engaged in a scheme to steal $10,000 in donations intended for charities was sentenced to two years probation, records show.

Robin Higgs was also ordered to do 100 hours of community service as part of the July 21 sentencing. Her sister, Rickelle Robinson, was given three years probation in 2019, court records show.

Prosecutors said that Robinson worked for the U.S. Post Office in 2017, when she allegedly took dozens of letters intended for two charities from PO boxes at the Oakland airport. The checks were deposited in Hicks’ account as part of the scheme, authorities said.
