Albany Man Arrested After Rear-Ending Postal Carrier’s Jeep, Alcohol Suspected

Stearns County Deputies arrested an Albany man after he allegedly fled the scene of a car accident after rear-ending US Postal Service carrier’s vehicle.

Authorities say on Friday, December 20 just before 5:30 p.m. they received word of a crash with injuries on County Road 154. This is just east of County Road 10, and northeast of Albany city limits.

Driving a jeep was 6o-year-old Alice Theisen of Albany. She was delivering mail for the US Postal Service. She was stopped at a mailbox and was struck from behind by a 2005 Ford F-150. The driver of the F-150 fled the scene.

Deputies located the truck and identified the driver as 31-year-old Jonathon Boundy. Deputies say Boundy exhibited signs of alcohol impairment and arrested him. He is being held at the Stearns County Jail on charges of criminal vehicular operation resulting in injury-gross misdemeanor, 2nd Degree DWI, and leaving the scene of a personal injury crash.

Theisen was taken to the Melrose Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
