Mail carrier saves packages after vehicle catches fire in Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — A mail carrier in Lynchburg jumped into action to save packages after her vehicle caught fire on Mt. Athos Road.

Crews responded to a mail car on fire on Mt. Athos Road Thursday, Feb. 20.

Small flames were seen burning on the underside of the vehicle.

The mail carrier who wants to remain anonymous says she saved every piece of mail while the car was still burning.

Firefighters on scene suspect an engine malfunction caused the fire.

No one was injured.
